We believe that shopping should be simple and labels easy to understand. That's why we created Bioshi Score. We scan labels, check origin, and assess the processing level of food products to give you a clear answer encapsulated in a single letter.
Bioshi Score is a proprietary rating system that, on a scale from A to E, tells you how a given product aligns with clean ingredient standards and sustainable production. No unnecessary complications, no fine print – in one second, you choose the highest quality.
What Does Bioshi Score Evaluate?
Our algorithm analyzes products across four key areas, which you'll see on every product page:
Ingredients
We favor products with a short ingredient list, free from artificial preservatives and unnecessary additives. The simpler, the better.
Origin
We award points for certified organic farming and local production.
Processing
We rate raw, cold-pressed, or minimally heat-treated products higher, as these methods preserve natural nutritional values.
Packaging
We value solutions that are friendly to people and the planet, such as glass, paper, or fully recyclable materials.
Our system is objective and rigorous. Here are the ratings you'll see for specific products:
A | A 100% natural, unprocessed, organic product. This is the ideal choice! |
B | A natural product with minimal processing and excellent ingredients. A great choice! |
C | A standard, processed product, but without harmful additives. A safe and reliable option! |
D | A product with a higher degree of processing and a broader list of food additives. It works as a tasty, quick solution from time to time! |
E | A highly processed product. Recommended as an occasional choice, ideal for combining with simple, light ingredients. |
Additional tags inform you about the most important features of a given product. This makes it easy to spot organic products, those with a short ingredient list, or a clean label – free from E-numbers.

*Exclusions
Bioshi Score was created to evaluate conventional and organic foods. However, there are product categories where the composition is strictly regulated by medical or legal standards. To avoid misleading you with a harsh rating resulting from production technology, we have consciously excluded the following from the system:
- Infant formula (starter and follow-on milks)
The composition of these products must include isolates and synthetic vitamins to support children's health. Our algorithm, which evaluates low processing levels, would always rate them harshly, which would be unfair to products of the highest quality.
- Dietary supplements
These are concentrated sources of vitamins and minerals. Their nature precludes a short ingredient list in the sense of traditional food.
- Health, beauty, and home & garden products
We focus on what you provide your body internally as fuel. Cosmetics and cleaning products operate under different rules that our current algorithm does not cover.
